GOP Wins the Senate!

Congrats to the GOP, but mostly this a rebuke of Obama. Get it GOP? Now stop acting like cowards and let's get rid of ObamaCare, reform the partisan IRS, EPA, DOJ, and other ABC government agencies. and let's bring back some lawful restraints against our imperial president.

In the meantime, a little celebration:

Update: Mending Blogger

It's awfully nice to say that that I'm back and doing well.

I'm still in physical therapy getting my shoulder loosened and strengthened up, but everything seems to be going well, if a bit painfully.

Typing is still a little tough for me, but I should be back to posting regularly. My deepest thanks for the kind words people have offered. They are much appreciated.

Hope things are going well, and I should begin posting later today or tomorrow.

Thanks,
Yukio Ngaby

Announcement: Broken Blogger

I'm sorry to say that I'm going to be out of action for a few weeks. I'm afraid I'm about to undergo a surgery on my shoulder very soon, and will be away recovering for a while. The extent of my injury is not completely clear yet, so I can't really tell how long I'll be out. No matter what, I won't be blogging for at least three weeks.

In the meantime, check out the links at the side.

I'll hopefully be back to blogging soon.

Thanks,
Yukio Ngaby

Blogger Update

Sorry. I haven't been blogging recently and have been avoiding politics for a couple of weeks. I'm involved in a personal project right now-- writing again-- and have been distracted from the rest of the world.

I have to tell you, it's really a relief to ignore politics for a while. It's so inviting to just sit back in blissful ignorance.

Of course, that's not a healthy attitude to put put forth-- particularly unhealthy right now. I'll be back in the next few weeks, though how often depends on the progress of my writing. I get things done before deadlines, but the actual rate of the writing is unpredictable at best.

Anyway, I'll be posting again soon.

Thanks,
Yukio Ngaby

Lazy but Happier Blogger Update with One More Mark Gormley "Little Wings" Video

I've been rather lazy for the past four or five days. It's amazing how much better I feel when I ignore Obama's attempts to create big, centralized government. But I know I shouldn't be so complacent, and I'll be back in soon-- probably tomorrow.

In the meantime, here's another Mark Gormley classic "Little Wings." Once again, look for the classic move "The Mark Gormley Weight Shift."

Enjoy, and I'll be back soon:

Snow Edition: Updated with Photo

We got about two inches of snow here in Salem yesterday. This means that the local drivers immediately forget how to drive and then slam into one another. Furthermore, this means drivers forget where the border between the street and my front yard is. I'm now waiting for the power to go out, which is a part of the usual pattern.

So, I will be busy for a while and might not be posting today. Hopefully things will resolve themselves, but maybe not.

Thanks,
Yukio Ngaby

UPDATE:

Okay, we've now had about 7 inches of snow total. That's a lot for us. It's still no biggie, but we're supposed to get freezing rain tonight and tomorrow. That can cut the power for a lot of us as tree branches fall down.

Anyway, it's quite pretty right now.

Here's a shot from my backyard:

Kathleen Sebelius' Thuggery Recounted

My computer is still down, and I'll likely have to have more work done on it than I'd hoped. Be back as soon possible. In the meantime Michelle Malkin has a good piece on the thuggery and heavy-handed intimidation doled out by HHS Secretary1 Kathleen Sebelius. Check it out.

I'm having some computer issues-- or rather my computer is having issues. I should be back soon, hopefully later today.

Imperial Japan Formally Surrenders to Allies on Sept. 2, 1945, Ending WWII

I'm 2 1/2 hours late on this. Careless of me...

After accepting the Allies' terms more than two weeks earlier, Japan formally surrendered on the deck of the U.S.S. Missouri.

Before the short signing ceremony, General Douglas MacArthur made these very brief remarks that I have long found rather moving.

We are gathered here, representatives of the major warring powers, to conclude a solemn agreement whereby peace may be restored. The issues, involving divergent ideals and ideologies, have been determined on the battlefields of the world and hence are not for our discussion or debate. Nor is it for us here to meet, representing as we do a majority of the people of the earth, in a spirit of distrust, malice or hatred. But rather it is for us, both victors and vanquished, to rise to that higher dignity which alone befits the sacred purposes we are about to serve, committing all our people unreservedly to faithful compliance with the understanding they are here formally to assume.

It is my earnest hope, and indeed the hope of all mankind, that from this solemn occasion a better world shall emerge out of the blood and carnage of the past -- a world dedicated to the dignity of man and the fulfillment of his most cherished wish for freedom, tolerance and justice.
Much of the effect of MacArthur's words were due to his rhetorical ability and I'm sure somewhere on the internet is a video of these remarks.

Personal Update: Minor Injury-- Will be Back Blogging Very Soon

I'm sorry for not posting anything for a week, but I'm afraid I broke a finger a little earlier. It's a very simple break, but it makes typing difficult. It's feeling better though and I will, hopefully, be back to posting stuff by Monday.

Thanks,
Yukio Ngaby

Out for a Few Days, Will be Back Soon

Sorry, but I hurt my hand and have to type with only my off-hand right now. It's no big deal, likely just a bad bruise or a sprain, so I should be back posting later this week.

Be back with you soon,

Yukio Ngaby
