Other religions just get in the way of the proper veneration of the Light-bringer, right Mark Morford? |
Of course for Obama, all religions (except perhaps Islam) are the fall backs for weak and cowardly people who don't have enough work and knowledge to cling to-- well, that plus guns and bigotry. It's a basic American Marxist belief-- a slightly modernized version of the "opiate for the mass" shtick.
From the Scottish Catholic Observer article by Ian Dunn (h/t BizPac Review):
The US President has made an alarming call for an end to Catholic education in Northern Ireland in spite of the fact that Archbishop Gerhard Müller told Scots that Catholic education was 'a critical component of the Church.’
President Barack Obama, repeated the oft disproved claim that Catholic education increases division in front of an audience of 2000 young people, including many Catholics, at Belfast’s Waterfront hall when he arrived in the country this morning.
“If towns remain divided—if Catholics have their schools and buildings and Protestants have theirs, if we can’t see ourselves in one another and fear or resentment are allowed to harden—that too encourages division and discourages cooperation,” the US president said.
Smart diplomacy... Do you remember when that was the buzzword for the Obama administration? It's hard to be smart when you have a lot of axes to grind and religion to attack. The US politician made the unfounded claim despite a top Vatican official spelling out the undeniable good done by Catholic education in a speech in Glasgow on Saturday and in his homily at Mass on Friday.
I'm really starting to wonder about our theory that Obama is only a brain-dead Marx acolyte. The opiate of the masses thing applies to ALL religions, yet Obama cozies up to the Muslim Brotherhood, with al Queada in Syria (the "rebels" are al Queada terrorists). His DOJ is floating the idea that saying something against Islam (whatever that actually means) is a federal offense that will be prosecuted. His NSA, FBI, and DHS are not permitted to surveil mosques, just normal, law-abiding Americans (i.e. anyone but Muslims). He's instituting something that goes way beyond leftist political correctness in our military, Christians have been told they can't talk about God, read the Bible, and who knows what else that we never hear about. I really don't think he fits the bill as a Marxist. He may be making the right noises when it suits him politically, but the things he does just don't add up to that at all.

DeleteBut look at the Left endorses right now. They've cozied up to the Muslims because they see them as victims of Western imperialism and that falls nicely into their anti-capitalist/anti-Western-of-now agenda. They hate Christians because most Christians doctrines are a solid political block to their agendas.
To me, it appears that Obama is just following the Left's political line, albeit in a likely illegal and ruthless manner. It doesn't have to makes sense to us, (the Left in general doesn't make a great deal of sense-- why else follow the rantings of Marx and Hegel after the various genocides committed by followers of these theories?) it simply must make sense to the Left.
Remember the Left is based around Marx's revolutionist theory. It NEEDS outrage. It's not surprising to me at all that when you put all the outrages together you get ridiculous inconsistencies.
Obama is simply punishing his political enemies the Christians. And he foolishly involved himself in the Sunni / Shiite conflict on the side of Egyptians and Muslim Brotherhood against the Iranian-backed Assad. I don't see the two as particularly related issues.
I don't like speculating on Obama's motives, but I think he sees religion in the US as an enemy that can eliminated politically, while he sees Islam in the Middle East as something so deeply ingrained that it cannot be politically eliminated, so he decided to back the Muslim Brotherhood. I think that's it all very foolish, but I think the Light-bringer's a fool so...
